Chris grew up on a farm north of Kanorado, Ks, working as her dad's "hired man" - helping with the cattle, driving tractor, combine, truck, etc. She moved to California in 1975 and began working in the financial industry, working her way up to vice president of a bank. In 1977 she accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior. In 1990 she and Joe were married. A short time later, she felt God's call to serve Him as a teacher of His children, so she re-entered college, finished her degree, and earned a teaching credential. She taught 2nd and 3rd graders in the Los Angeles Unified School District until she and Joe retired in 2009. They moved to Palmer Lake in July that year and began attending Fox Meadow Church shortly thereafter. Chris says, "I feel so blessed to be a part of this church and to be able to honor the Lord by serving His children and their families."
